MODERNISATION
Many hydrocarbon processing plants are operating with low efficiency and thus are producing low-quality products below the desired capacity due to exhaustion and the use of outdated technologies. Moreover, the amount of energy and raw material waste in these units is always high. In terms of environmental concerns, these ineffective plants have a long way to go to meet the standards of modern refineries. The need for amelioration and modernisation of these plants is irrefutable.
In addition to constructing new and modern hydrocarbon processing plants, PPC also offers end-to-end EPCC/ LSTK solutions for amelioration and modernisation for improving the efficiency of old plants and mitigating their environmental risks. These solutions are performed in three phases as follows:
· The study phase: We check and measure the performance of each and every system and component used in the plant to identify any technical discrepancies or functional faults that may be contributing to the plant’s poor performance.
· The re-engineering phase: We re-design the plant using advanced technologies aimed at enhancing the efficiency and quality of production. The re-engineering are conducted in such a way as to deliver effective and optimal amelioration, modernisation and rehabilitation solutions which are coordinated to meet the specific circumstances in each plant. At this phase our focus is to achieving maximum enhancement of plant efficiency with the minimum requirement for extensive modification or construction operations.
· The execution phase: We carry out procurement, construction and installation and commissioning activities to deliver amelioration and modernisation solutions in accordance with the designs conceived during the re-engineering phase. We employ specialist methods enabling us to perform the required work with or in the vicinity of operating plants. Most of the construction and installation work is implemented using pre-fabrication and assembly techniques.
PPC’s expertise in the areas of engineering, design, construction and commissioning enable it to offer swift, safe and highly effective modernisation solutions for a range of hydrocarbon production and processing facilities.
